Annette Coates, MPT
Annette, a native of Tennessee, moved to the northwest in 2006 from Okalahoma where she retired as a substance abuse counselor from the US Air Force in 2002. Annette chose to change careers to physical therapy after first hand experience involving rehabilitation. She thus bravely decided to return to school (with students 15+ years her junior) and completed the master's level program at the University of Oklahoma in 2006.
While attending the physical therapy program in Oklahoma, she had the opportunity to provide sports industry and prevention services to the US Paralympics Sitting Volleyball team during the 2004 Endeavor Games. This solidified her interest in sports medicine and orthopedic manual therapy.
Annette traveled to Sydney Australia in November 2008 and Melbourne Australia in June 2009 to attend both levels of training and learn the technique of Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN). She has also received additional training in cervical spine dysfunction and lymphedema management. When she isn't working, Annette enjoys going to the gym, walking/hiking, biking, and has been known to paint a landscape or two.
